The ‘Battle of Leiden’
The ‘Battle of Leiden’ (‘De Slag om Leiden’) is an annual charity pub quiz for anyone with a love for Leiden, for playing competitive games & for doing something for the community! The proceeds of the pub quiz go to Hospice Issoria in Leiden. Hospice Issoria is a home for people who expect to die in a short time. A house with love and attention to the quality of life. Hospice Issoria however, is short of money every year. The subsidy from the ministry and the individual contributions of their guests unfortunately do not cover the annual costs. The ‘Battle of Leiden’ is one of the major contributors to this cause and aims to be a larger contributor every year. We are proud to inform you that Thijs Hemmes, one of HBK’s founders, is the chairman of the foundation that organises the Battle of Leiden. Should you be interested to participate: the ‘Battle of Leiden’ usually takes place in the month March, at the building of the student associate “L.S.V. Minerva”. The event is always almost sold out immediately after the registration is opened, so you have to be quick! Teams that want to register or are curious about the conditions for participation can turn to deelnemers@slagomleiden.nl.
